Where our data comes from and how we use it
Prisme contacts employers on behalf of people looking for work in Australia. Here is what that data is, where it comes from, and the rules we apply to it.
What we hold about employers
Business contact details of people who make hiring decisions: supervisors, managers, recruiters and business owners. Their name, role, company and work email address.
We do not collect home addresses, personal email addresses or anything about people's private lives.
Where it comes from
We build the database ourselves, sector by sector and city by city, from publicly available business sources: company websites, business directories and professional profiles.
Every address is verified before it is used, and addresses that bounce are removed continuously.
How we use it
To send job-search emails on behalf of our clients, to companies that hire in their trade. Each client approves their list before anything goes out.
The database is never sold as a whole. Each client keeps the recruiters contacted for them (name, role, company and work email), and a partner organisation (agency, school or programme) receives the data from its members' campaigns: the companies and the recruiters contacted for each member, which it can then use on its side.
The rules every email follows
Every email says who it is sent for and includes a simple way to opt out, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
An opt-out is permanent: that person is never contacted again, for any client.
Our clients' data
The CV, contact details and preferences of the people we help are personal information, handled under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. The details are in our privacy policy.
